Braves & Westin

Had a pretty good day today [Sunday]. I went to my first baseball game ever and it was pretty alright. Lots of foul balls and broken bats. Left after the end of the 8th innning though, but the score didn't change: Braves 8, Washington 5.

After that I went to Westin and had some OJ on the top floor. The rotating seats thing is pretty amusing. Only thing that sucked is that they covered up the windows of the elevator because of those tornadoes that hit sometime last year or whatever. Either way, today was pretty eventful and it's the most I've done in a while.

After patient, annoyed waiting, I finally passed my Drivers' Test today. Didn't get my actual license though... I forgot to bring my green card and they need to see that before I get it. I got an 87 on it but I thought I did worse; I was really nervous and I initially didn't back in for the parallel parking and I was way too much on my left when I was reversing into the space. Thankfully, the reason for that is because Cobb County is one of those lame counties where you can't look back when you reverse; you have to use the mirrors. I couldn't distinguish which cone was which and I backed into one as well. After that though, everything else went smoothly, but the instructor did make me sweat a bit afterwards when I was finding out my result. I was like "wait... what?" when he told me. So now, that's one down, and one more to go! Except getting the UK/International license test is a lot trickier than over here. Whatever though, I'm just really content right now. Also aiming on getting a car sometime mid-summer. :)

They're 5094s, not 5044s like my old ones. These are slightly wider and completely black, as opposed to the 44s. Feels much better than them too. Possibly the best frames I've ever owned hands down.

Can't really see 'em because iSight sucks. They look perdy good if you ask me.

Also, I got bored yesterday and I decided to take a picture outside of my house. It came out pretty neat.

Went to the mall to get my eyes tested again, even though I went back in September... it's all good though. I decided to get both glasses and contacts; for those days where I don't feel like wearing my glasses and vice versa. I went with Ray-Ban RX 5o44s again. I loved my old pair so I just had to get them again. Only this time, these are just a solid black and not pinstriped like the old pair. Here's what they look like:

Apparently I can get a job as a receptionist at the same place when I come back for the summer. My mom was just hinting at it jokingly, but the optician that took care of us was serious about it. So that's possibly two jobs I can get this summer? If so, I can definitely get a 13 by the end of the summer. Maybe even before that.

Anyway, I'm back home for the Easter break. Thankfully I have a month off. Unfortunately I have a 2ooo word "Learning" Biography to do, and study for my exams. Oh well.

Got to see some friends yesterday, so I was really happy about that! Can't wait to hangout with the rest of them while I'm here.

Is probably something that I actually hate. I don't hate many things; if it's the case, I strongly dislike or disapprove of it, but not as far as hate.

I don't show it to anyone --excluding the ones who deserve it-- so I don't expect it from anyone. Don't come around me with it and expect me not to retort. I don't like conflict but I WILL put my foot down if that is the matter, and even with that I try to keep civil.

Possibly lost a "friend" today, but I could care less.[/rant]

New direction

Welp. A really good friend of mine was saying that I should be more loose with my drawing. So she basically suggest I start new ones if I get bored of any of my projects; I have been kinda bored with this one, so I guess I will start a new one soon. Might as well get an idea of an image for my characters.

Actually I'm going to take a break from this, kind of. A buddy of mine gave me some exercises to work on so I can get better at drawing what I see. So I'll be doing like, blind contour drawing and what not; really looking forward to that. D: Ha, it's going to look so horrible. Oh well, everyone has to start somewhere. (I'm still going to look for somewhere to take drawing lessons; everywhere I've looked, they're just offering it as a part time degree. Do not want.

I did my exam for Describing Language Monday. I think I did well, but I didn't do as well as I wanted to; grammar really kicked my ass. I'm sure I have over 40% though. That's all that matters.

I have Italian on Thursday... I really need to study for that one to; mine really went into the hole.

First of all, happy new year and all that other stuff.

Uh, I haven't really thought/found anything I should write about that is like really important, but it has been a week since I've been back in Swansea. All the travelling took about 15 hours in all (22 hours if you count the flight as a 12 hour flight [7 hours + the 5 hour time difference] At least I think it's 22; I suck at mental math lols). I did get to see snow at least once this winter! In New York. Unfortunately, that delayed my flight a bit. But! I got back yadda, yadda, yadda, fast forward to last week, procrastinated on my essay which in turn desecrated my sleeping schedule, and the idiots in my building are at it again with the fire alarms! It's gone off 3 times this week, two of them being back to back last night and the night before. I'm looking forward to the rest of them, yayyy.

On an unhealthy note: I've literally been eating like, a meal a day. Why? Schedule's thrown off, and I have actually been studying for my exams. Nothing's really sticking, but I'm hoping the areas I think that's going to be on the exam, is on the exam. So, probably after my exam tomorrow I'll be eating regularly and hopefully sleeping right.

So I was looking into what I want in terms of upgrading/getting new equipment for my photography. Well, I already settled on getting a Canon 40D, probably the package with the 2GB memory card and the standard 18 - 55mm EF-S IS lens. Not sticking with that lens only though! In the A for the holidays. Travelling was not that kind to me, but I'm still thankful I didn't get told I couldn't get on a flight. Left my mum's friend's house about 1am EST Tuesday and didn't get home in Kennesaw until about 30 minutes ago...

First off, I almost didn't make the flight because I was flying stand-by and there were literally two seats left. I really thank God I got on. I would not have been a happy camper if I didn't. Second, the flight was LONG. I slept for about an hour and a half, watched 4 Movies (The Incredible Hulk, Hancock, Baby Mama and Little Miss Sunshine) back to back and we still weren't in Philadelphia yet.

When we got there, I think it was around 5 something or so, I didn't leave until about a quarter after 9. To be honest I don't remember taking off from that flight at all.

Anyway, I got in about half 11ish and my sister picked me up about 20 minutes later, then I got home and died for a couple hours on my bed. I was so glad for that because compared to my bed in my flat, my bed at home is like a feather.

It's kinda like -- well, basically is based on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, but more Science Fictiony and Fantasy-esq. It's only 3 episodes though, but then again they're like one hour each. The only people I know from is the Alan Cumming and Kantheen Robertson, but more importantly, Zoe Deschanel. Mmmmm.
